Smoke Detector Inspection Fees

As of 10/19/2021 we will be resuming in person smoke detector inspections. The current affidavit will no longer be accepted unless there are COVID symptoms in the residence at time of scheduling. As we will not be asking about COVID symptoms, please advise the inspector when scheduling for our safety and yours. We will also be resuming the inspection fee schedule which is as follows:

$45.00 – More than 10 Business Days in Advance
$90.00 – 4 – 10 Business Days
$161.00 – Less than 4 Business Days
$30.00 – Re-Inspection

Per Ordinance No. O-8-2020-015:

§ 43-13.  Payment of fees. [Amended 6-9-99 by Ord. No. 0-6-99-025]

All fees outlined in Chapter 39 of this Code not otherwise collected for distributions as outlined by the New Jersey State Uniform Fire Code or the State of New Jersey, shall be collected by and be payable to the enforcing agency; provided however, that to the extent allowable by law, no fees shall be required for the inspection of any municipality owned or operated facility and no municipal agency shall be required to pay permit fees.    

Fee collected for use of online / point of sale transactions. All required transaction fees required by Federal or State Regulations for online and / or point sale shall be collected as outlined by the State of NJ.

Fees:
Online Transactions: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction

In-person Transactions:
2.7% per credit card swipe, chip, or tap
3.5% plus $0.15 for manually entered transactions
